Tim Tebow Foundation - Night to Shine
On February 13, I had the privilege of serving on the crowning team for Tim Tebow’s Night to Shine. It was truly one of the most joyful evenings I’ve experienced.
Night to Shine is all about honoring individuals with special needs as kings and queens for the evening. Being surrounded by other titleholders and queens, standing together to celebrate and crown each guest, was a powerful reminder of what this role is really about. It is not about wearing a crown, it is about placing one on someone else.
There is something incredibly meaningful about locking eyes with someone as you place a crown on their head and seeing their confidence light up in that moment.
It felt especially special to celebrate others in that way. So often, the spotlight in pageantry is turned toward us. That night, the spotlight belonged exactly where it should have been, on the guests.
Moments like Night to Shine remind me that leadership is service. And sometimes, the most beautiful part of wearing a crown is getting to give it away.
