Recap from the Dedication of Phase II of Columbia Sports Fieldhouse

I had the opportunity to attend the dedication of Phase II of the Columbia Sports Fieldhouse, a celebration hosted by Columbia Parks and Recreation. The evening marked the opening of the new courts and featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony, tours of the expanded space, and a strong turnout from the community.

One of the best parts of the night was connecting with so many people who care deeply about youth sports and community development. I loved spending time with children and parents, talking with those actively engaged in local programs, and meeting city leaders, including the mayor and members of the Parks and Recreation team. The energy in the room reflected how important spaces like this are for keeping kids active, connected, and supported.

The expansion of the Columbia Sports Fieldhouse represents a continued investment in accessible recreation and youth opportunities. It was inspiring to see the community come together to celebrate a space that will serve families, athletes, and organizations for years to come. I am grateful to have been part of such a meaningful night for Columbia.
