Thank You to Skyler Trepel and Penguin Random House
I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Skyler Trepel and Penguin Random House for generously gifting copies of his three books (shop here)! These books will play a meaningful role in my work with young girls, especially as I read with YMCA after-school groups and introduce them to stories rooted in perseverance, confidence, and believing in yourself.
Skyler’s journey as a sports journalist and author, and his decision to pursue storytelling with purpose, aligns closely with the message behind Play Her Potential. His work highlights how athletes overcome challenges, grow through adversity, and find confidence along the way—lessons that are so important for young readers to hear early on.
I am grateful for the opportunity to share these stories with kids in our community and to help spark conversations about resilience, effort, and potential. Thank you to Skyler Trepel and Penguin Random House for supporting youth literacy, sport-based storytelling, and the next generation of confident young leaders.
