Reading at Thomas Benton STEM Elementary

I recently had the opportunity to visit Thomas Benton STEM Elementary School, where I spent time reading with the students and sharing the inspiring story of Wilma Rudolph.

We talked about Wilma’s incredible journey, overcoming challenges and becoming an Olympic champion through determination, resilience, and belief in herself. The students were curious, engaged, and excited to learn about how perseverance can help you reach your goals.

By the end of the visit, they had one request for me. They said I should come back and play kickball with them next time. I might have to take them up on that. Moments like these remind me how fun and meaningful it is to connect with students and share stories that inspire confidence and possibility.
