Co-Emceeing for Woodhaven

I was incredibly honored to serve as a co-emcee for Woodhaven during such a meaningful evening centered around empowering independence and transforming lives.

Because of the incredible generosity of the community, the event not only met its goal, but exceeded it, raising an amazing $542,637 in support of Woodhaven’s Empowering Independence, Transforming Lives campaign.

The impact of that support reaches far beyond one night. This success builds momentum toward Woodhaven’s broader $10.4 million campaign to renovate homes and create safer, more accessible, and more supportive spaces for the individuals they serve.

For me personally, this experience connected deeply to the “access” pillar of Play Her Potential.

When people hear the word access, they often think only about sports opportunities. But true access is much bigger than that. Access means creating environments where people feel safe, supported, valued, and empowered to fully participate in life and community.

That is exactly what Woodhaven is doing.

Whether through accessible housing, supportive services, or opportunities for independence, their mission reflects the belief that everyone deserves spaces designed to help them thrive, not just survive.

Being part of this evening was such a powerful reminder that advocacy and impact can take many forms. Sometimes access looks like sports equipment or mentorship programs. Other times, it looks like safe housing, inclusive spaces, and communities willing to invest in people.

No matter the form, the goal remains the same: helping people recognize their value, expand their opportunities, and step fully into their potential.
