Coaching at the MAV Volleyball Clinic

This weekend, I had the opportunity to help coach at the MAV Volleyball Clinic alongside former teammates and to support one of my dearest friends, Janet DeMarrais.

Getting to support Janet as she hosted her own camp was incredibly special to me because I have had the chance to watch her grow not only as an athlete, but as a leader, mentor, and role model for younger players. Seeing her pour back into the next generation through volleyball was such a full circle moment.

Throughout the clinic, we worked with young athletes on skill development, competition, confidence, and simply enjoying the game. One of my favorite parts was getting to interact with girls who genuinely love volleyball and are excited to continue growing within the sport.

As former teammates, it was also really meaningful getting to be back in a gym together in a different capacity now, no longer just competing side by side, but helping lead and encourage younger athletes together.

Moments like this are always a reminder that the impact of sports continues far beyond our own playing careers. Sometimes it evolves into mentorship, leadership, and helping create positive experiences for the athletes coming after us.
