Leadership Beyond the Game Roundtable

There are certain moments in life that remind you just how powerful sports can be beyond the scoreboard. Today was one of those moments.

I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to host and facilitate a Play Her Potential: Leadership Beyond the Game roundtable at the Missouri Supreme Court.

For this experience, I brought together three incredible women who are either currently attending or preparing to attend the University of Missouri School of Law. While each of their journeys through sports has looked different, they all share a common foundation rooted in discipline, resilience, and leadership.

Together, we had the privilege of engaging in meaningful conversation with Judge Kelly C. Broniec, Judge Ginger K. Gooch, and Judge Robin Ransom.

Throughout the discussion, we talked about resilience, mentorship, and the ways sports continue to shape us long after competition ends. One of the most impactful parts of the conversation was hearing each judge reflect on how athletics influenced their own personal and professional journeys. It was a reminder that the lessons learned through sports, confidence, teamwork, accountability, and perseverance, extend far beyond a playing career.

Moments like this are exactly why Play Her Potential exists.

I deeply believe in creating intentional spaces where young women can grow, build meaningful connections, and expand their understanding of what is possible for their futures. Leadership is not built overnight, and often, it begins in environments where women are simply able to see themselves reflected in positions they once thought were out of reach.

Also, it is safe to say this may have been one of the most unique spring break plans out there. While many students headed to the beach, this group spent the day inside the Missouri Supreme Court. Personally, I would argue they made the right choice.

A special thank you to CDJR of Columbia for helping us arrive in style. A purple Jeep parked in front of the Missouri Supreme Court definitely felt like a moment worth remembering.
